How to Prepare for Tech Mahindra Interview – Tamil Job Update:

1. Understand the Job

The position is for a Customer Support Executive, where you will help customers with their telecom-related problems. You need to know some basic networking concepts (like Router, LAN, WAN, Switches) and be ready to support customers with issues like internet connection problems or slow speeds.

Key Things to Focus On:

  • Basic Networking Knowledge:
    • Learn about basic networking—understand what a router, LAN, WAN, and switch do. You don’t need to be an expert, but understanding the basics will help.
    • Since this is a telecom role, also look at common issues in the telecom industry, such as slow internet or connectivity issues.
  • Customer Service Skills:
    • The job is about helping customers, so practice being patient, friendly, and understanding.
    • You should be ready to solve customer problems in a calm and efficient way.
  • Work in Shifts:
    • The job requires working in rotational shifts (24/7), so be prepared to work in the evenings, nights, or even weekends.
    • Cab facilities are provided for commuting, so no worries about transport.

2. Know the Company

Tech Mahindra is a big IT and telecom company. They help businesses with technology solutions and are especially known for their work in the telecom industry. It’s a good idea to know a little bit about them, like their services or any new projects they are working on. This shows that you’re interested in the company.

3. Prepare for Common Interview Questions

Here are some questions you might be asked and how you can prepare for them:

a. Tell me about yourself.

  • Keep it short and talk about your education, skills, and any past experiences (even if it’s internships or projects) that make you good for this role.

b. Why do you want to work at Tech Mahindra?

  • Talk about the opportunity to work with a big, well-known company in the telecom field and how you are excited to help customers.

c. What do you know about networking (Router, LAN, WAN, Switches)?

  • Be ready to explain the basics of networking. For example:
    • Router: Device that connects different networks.
    • LAN (Local Area Network): A network within a small area like your house or office.
    • WAN (Wide Area Network): A network that covers a large area (like the internet).
    • Switches: Devices that connect multiple devices within a network.

d. How would you handle a difficult customer?

  • Explain how you would stay calm and polite, listen carefully to the customer’s problem, and work with them to find a solution. You can share an example from your past (even from college or volunteer work) where you helped someone resolve an issue.

e. Are you comfortable working in shifts?

  • Since the job involves working in 24/7 shifts, you should show that you’re okay with working at different hours and are flexible about it.

4. Prepare for Role-Specific Questions

Since this is a customer support role in telecom, the interviewer may ask how you’d handle certain customer problems. Be ready to talk about how you would:

  • Troubleshoot a customer’s Wi-Fi problem.
  • Help a customer who is facing slow internet speed.

For example, if a customer complains about slow internet, you can explain how you would check the router settings, reset the connection, and ask the customer to try basic troubleshooting steps like restarting their device or checking cables.

5. Practice Communication Skills

  • Clear communication is very important in customer support. Practice speaking clearly and confidently.
  • Stay positive and polite, even if the customer is upset. A friendly attitude goes a long way in customer service.

6. Documents to Bring

  • Resume: A copy of your updated resume.
  • Educational certificates (like your degree certificate).
  • ID proof (like Aadhaar card or passport).
  • Previous work experience (if any), like internship or part-time job certificates.

7. Be Ready for the Logistics

  • Walk-in Interview Time: The interview is from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM. So, try to reach on time.
  • Venue: The interview will take place in Sholinganallur, Chennai. Make sure you know how to get there.
  • Transport: Since Tech Mahindra provides two-way cabs for the job, you don’t have to worry about transport for the work itself, but ensure you reach the venue for the interview.

8. Dress Code

  • Dress in business casual—like smart trousers or a skirt with a shirt or blouse. Keep it simple and neat, as you want to look professional.

Final Tips:

  • Be confident but also humble.

  • Don’t forget to smile—a positive attitude always makes a good impression!
