Job Description

TCS HackQuest is an annual cybersecurity competition started in 2016, designed to uncover and nurture cybersecurity talent among students.

The competition follows the popular “Catch the Flag” (CTF) format, where participants solve challenges related to cybersecurity. The challenges are divided into three categories: Beginner, Intermediate, and Expert.

This contest is open to students who will graduate in 2025 with degrees in fields such as B.Tech, M.Tech, BCA, MCA, B.Sc., or M.Sc. from any recognized college or university in India.

Participants are required to solve real-world cybersecurity challenges to showcase their skills in areas like ethical hacking, penetration testing, reverse engineering, and digital forensics.

Competition Structure:

  • Round 1: This is an online-based competition where participants solve a set of cybersecurity challenges within a 6-hour window. The challenges span across three difficulty levels: Beginner, Intermediate, and Expert. After solving the challenges, participants must submit their reports with a detailed explanation of the solutions.
  • Round 2: Participants who qualify from Round 1 will be invited to Round 2, which is conducted remotely through platforms like Microsoft Teams/Webex. This round involves tasks like penetration testing, system exploitation, web application security, and digital forensics. The participants must explain their approach to the challenges to a panel of experts.
  • Round 2 Evaluation: Participants are evaluated based on flags captured, the quality of their reports, and their problem-solving approach. The evaluation will also consider the participant’s knowledge of advanced cybersecurity concepts and real-world application.

Prizes, Awards, and Career Opportunities:

The competition provides a chance to interact with TCS leadership during the award ceremony and receive career guidance. Participants with outstanding performance may also receive an opportunity to work with the TCS Cybersecurity Centre of Excellence, contributing to high-impact global projects.uickly.

The top 10 performers from Round 2 will be awarded prizes worth up to INR 5 Lakhs and a Certificate of Merit.
